Continuous Professional Development

CROí (Collaboration and Research for Ongoing Innovation) is a research support framework ran by the Teaching Council to help teachers who are conducting research or sharing research either working independently or in collaboration with others. I would like to be an active member of this support framework as I feel it would help me learn more about my teaching practice and other teacher's way of teaching. More information can be found by clicking the link:

FéILTE is another initiative carried out by the Teaching Council that allows teachers to celebrate the work they have done in their classrooms and to share with other teachers and the public annually. I would like to participate in this celebration of teachers' work and to showcase the work I carry out in my classroom.  More information about FéILTE can be found in the following link:

It is important to be aware of events and upcoming exhibitions as field trips take place annually for schools. As a working artist it is also important to visit exhibitions to enrich my own creativity and to build on my artist references for students. To visit the websites please click on the links below:

I participated in a Development Education and Art Workshop by Trocaire. The workshop involved contributing in a group setting discussing the 17 goals set out by the UN. It was a terrific experience to hear other teacher's opinions on how to incorporate global issues into our schemes of work set out to the students. It is important for students to be aware of these 17 goals. It is also an opportunity to think of how cross-curricular projects could be achieved for example; CSPE topics introduced to art.
