By completing workshops when studying in the PME programme, it allowed me to continue working as an artist. But it also allowed me to learn and discover new ways of making art. Pushing myself and making art outside of my comfort zone (painting) unveiled doorways to new ways of experimenting, reflecting and discovering and this is something I will continue to do throughout my teaching career as the curriculum expands. I will up-skill at all times to stay up-to-date with new curriculum. While being surrounded by fellow artists from different disciplines, I learned new skills that were vital for my professional development. After each workshop I found myself thinking of ways I could teach the new skills and disciplines I had learned.
